teaching methods

Teachers in TK Kemala Bhayangkari use a lot songs and activities for them to engage their students in learning. They really make sure are creative in terms of making instructional materials to present their lessons in school and they are active as well. They provide various activities where children are allowed to choose the activities that they want to do. This will enable children to develop at their own pace and hone their skills.

learning materials & innovation

TK Kemala Bhayangkari provides learning materials that are age appropriate such as books and art activities that will help the students develop their fine motor skills. They make sure that the books given to the students are developmentally and age appropriate.  The teachers are also making instructional materials that are designed to help them in teaching their lesson.

sources of learning & technology

The classroom of TK Kemala Bhayangkari has a lot materials that are the sources of learning. Some of the main sources of learning are their activity workbooks that they need to accomplish with the help of their teacher if they are having the hard time to answer, the playground which also serves as their source of learning to communicate and socialize with their peers and to develop their motor skills as well. When they arrive in school they are not only limited to sit inside the classroom and wait for the time, but they can play and roam around the school on their own. Also, after their first class there is a break time that is divided into two. The first 30 minutes is or them to play and the other 30 minutes is for them to eat their food. With that, they can learn independence and can communicate well. Not only that, they also have the monthly activity where in they visit different places like Pantai Panjang, Fort Malborough and police head quarters. They also ride the police car and solar vehicle  . The activity that I witnessed was the marching band of the kids in Pantai Panjang.

authentic assessment

In TK Kemala Bhayangkari, they always have to answer their workbooks, do their seat work and art activities and before they go home the teacher will write the activity they need to do at home. Also, they don't have the number value in their grades, they believe that the preschool students shouldn’t focus on academics but with the development of each child on their own paces. They have the checklist as the assessment for the development and they have the narrative grading system that includes the following aspects: the value of religion and moral, motor skills, cognitive, language, emotional, art, character, and self-development. Their progress and development are discussed with the parents one by one. In this school, they are not comparing the children because of the knowledge that they have their own stage of development.
